Located south of Colorado National Monument from Grand Junction, Glade Park is a community of vast open space. There is one store, a post office, and a fire department. There are many residential properties in Glade Park as well, but you won't see them unless you know where to look.
Residences in Glady Park are lavish luxury estates and large ranch-style homes. There is nothing uncommon about that in western Colorado. What is uncommon, however, is the size of the land parcels these homes sit on. Properties here range from five-acre parcels to over 300-acre parcels.

Local Lifestyle
There is a slower pace to life in Glade Park. There is no need to rush about in these parts; if folks are in a hurry, there is room to go around. Owning a vehicle is necessary for these parts as accessibility can be limited. Residents do not mind the commute, as that is the trade-off for the ultimate level of privacy and peaceful living they enjoy here.
Though there’s an inherent laid-back vibe here, residents of Glade Park do enjoy an active lifestyle and prefer the outdoors as well.
This area was once a ranch and farming community, but now most of the residents simply enjoy their privacy and the ample outdoor recreation they are afforded.
Dining, Entertainment & Shopping
There is just one spot to shop in Glade Park — the Glade Park Store. Celebrating 100 years in operation, this store sells gas, hygiene products, some grocery items, fishing and hunting necessities, drinks, treats, and many other assorted goods.
For more in-depth shopping excursions, the Mesa Mall in Grand Junction offers a wide range of elevated shopping and dining options. For a date night destination, Tequila's Mexican is popular for traditional Mexican cuisine. There is also Pho 88 serving elevated Vietnamese cuisine in a casual dining room.
Things to Do
There may be a commute for work and shopping, but explorers will be in heaven in Glade Park. Walk out your front door and head out on an adventure. Glade Park is located on the Colorado Plateau. From this location, residents enjoy amazing views of the Colorado National Monument, sandstone canyons, and countless other features and landmarks.
Grand Mesa National Forest offers more than 300 lakes across the 500-square-mile park. Here you can enjoy fishing, hunting, hiking, and camping. Other activities in Glade Park include rock climbing, wildlife viewing, horseback riding, mountain biking, and four-wheeler riding. There are outdoor activities to enjoy at any age.
The Glade Park Volunteer Fire Department (GPVFD) is funded by donations and fundraising efforts. Each Friday of the summer the GPVFD hosts a series of free Movies Under the Stars. Though the movies are free to watch, there is a concession stand where hamburgers and hot dogs can be purchased to benefit the GPVFD. In addition to the movie, there is pre-movie entertainment, volleyball, tether ball, corn hole, and hay rides. All the movies are announced on their website and are entirely family-friendly. Not only is this a great event and for a great cause, but it is a fantastic way to get out and meet your new neighbors.
